Hi,

For the past two days I've been getting around 500-800ms (I usually get around 140ms) while playing online games. Now that I've downloaded PingPlotter, I at least know why I'm lagging so bad. However, I don't know where to go from here. Firstly, I don't recognize the IP that hop displays and I have no idea how to resolve the huge packet loss that it brings. Any help would be appreciated.

Update: After finding the location of the IP displayed by hop 2, I realized that it was my ISP that was having packet loss issues. For now, I cannot do anything about it and will have to wait.

Hi Nourlan,

Thanks for writing into the forum!

It sounds like you're on the right track here but I would point out that the packet loss doesn't carry through to the final hop whereas the latency patterns look very similar. This looks like this is a classic bandwidth saturation pattern. If this is new then there is likely an issue with that 2nd hop and your ISP will have to look into it.

Here is an article on how to build a compelling case with your ISP.

Let us know how it turns out and if there is anything we can do to help!

Thanks,

-Poe
