When I export to a text file, some lines end with * - which seems to mean no response (I get a lot of that with my ISP), I also get a few that end with N/A. What does that mean?<br><br>

N/A means that either a packet was never sent to this host - or that we're still waiting for a packet to return from this host.<br><br>N/A happens a lot on intermediate hops where your route changes a lot. If you have a router in there that wasn't the previous sample (some other router responded at that point), then you'll see a N/A for the previous sample. You can set up route change exclusions if you have regularily changing routers (for example, I have a couple of hops that normally oscillate between two or three different routers).<br><br>Another opportunity for N/As to show up is when you're snap a "Copy as Text" when you're still in the midst of a trace. There might be some outstanding requests out there that just haven't had an opportunity to respond yet. Because we don't know yet - they're not timeouts, so we show that as N/A.<br><br>BTW, this is a great question that really isn't documented well in the help files yet (although we're working on improving a lot of that - see <A HREF="http://www.pingplotter.com/tutorial" target="_new">http://www.pingplotter.com/tutorial</A> for some of that new content).<br><br><br><br>
