The first hop on all my routes (Adtran NetVanta 2054), which has an IP of 192.168.1.1, doesn't always show up right in the PingPlotter Pro beta webserver. Sometimes it's all blanks, sometimes it's 192.168.1.105, sometimes I get other numbers.

Known problem? Does the fact that that 'hop' has 100% packet loss matter?

Thanks!

If a router *occasionally* responds at hop 1, then you'll sometimes see blank (when it's not responded recently), sometimes see a target. This is especially true if the route is changing a lot. If you want to send a .pp2 save file of a problem route to support@pingplotter.com, we'll have a look and see what's going on.

This router never responds to the first hop (*), I've sent Email from within PingPlotter and the .pp2 file separately.

(*) Adtran doesn't know why their router doesn't respond, is there anything I can tell them about the characteristics of the packet, so they can tell me how to configure the router to respond?

Thanks!

I had a look at the data you sent, and there was a single response from that hop where it responded as 192.168.1.105. That single response was at 9/8/2007, 9:29am. Since this is only one sample out of 50,000 or so, it's likely that some of your other targets didn't have this "spurious" return. Do you have a 192.168.1.105 on your network somewhere?
