How to use PingPlotter Quick Trace Links

Can I open traces in PingPlotter from a browser?
Solution
Yes you can! We call them PingPlotter Quick Trace Links and they allow you to use and share links that automatically start a trace to a specific endpoint, helping you solve your own issues quickly while also making it easier to troubleshoot problems for those who might not be the most net-savvy. When a link is clicked it will open in a browser and then populate in PingPlotter.
This feature should work in version 5.15.7 or any newer versions.Here is the syntax for a Quick Trace Link:
- For a sinlge trace you ask the browser to open it in PingPlotter by using this format: pingplotter://trace/www.pingplotter.com
- If you want to give the trace a name you can use this format: pingplotter://trace/8.8.8.8%20Google%20DNS%20Server (note: it's important to keep the %20 for any spaces)
- You can also do multiple traces by using this format: pingplotter://trace/8.8.8.8/1.1.1.1/2.2.2.2/3.3.3.3
- You can also add names for multiple addresses like this: pingplotter://trace/8.8.8.8%20Google%20DNS/1.1.1.1%20CloudFlare/2.2.2.2/3.3.3.3
